Well, I got my Sterling HS in on Thursday, and all I can say is WOW! What a fantastic bass. The S pickup really adds a ton of available tones. I tried the H, HH, and HS configs, and this was my favorite. I also like the small Sterling body and neck. I owned a SR4 about 3 years ago, but sold it for the "greener pastures" of boutique basses. I bought a few 2 and 3 thousand dollar basses over the last 3 years, and man what a waste of time and money. This is where it's at. I'm not virtuoso, just a meat and potatoes kinda guy, and this bass delivers.

I'm really diggin position 3. 1-4 are all very good, but 3 is where I'm leaving it the most. Nothing wrong with 5, as I'm sure I'll use that for the 12 bar blues type stuff, but that's a little part of what I do. I used it in church this morning, and it was spanking. This little guy is HOT. I clipped my amp a few times. :p

This is also the first 4 I've owned since I sold the SR4, and I forgot how much fun it can be to play a 4. The setup on this thing is amazing too. and these EB nickel strings ain't half bad either! ;)

Here is a photo from TPB, where it came from new.. I'll try to add some better pics later.

azzy wants one now too ;)
Yes she does! :D But she needs to pick her colour and resist the lure of the single H Bongo in the meantime - I think I can manage that. There is DEFINATELY a HS Sterling in my semi-near future.

Damned cheeky duck :p

Only prob is, my other half wants his AL before I'm allowed to buy another bass... grrr  It's perhaps a good thing my local stores don't stock any MMs, else I could get in sooooo much trouble :D
