does it matter man, use your ears and when it sounds right stop turning it :p

If he's asking, then it apparently matters to him, doesn't it?

Maybe Bovine, Rod, or John will be along at some point to provide an answer.

yeah ok...apologies.
He actually has a good point. I have not found any info about the dbs on the eq so it could prove very interesting.

My problem is I am not a very technically minded person, just plug in, find my sound and play. Work for 20 years now - but you are never too old to learn.

mmm... just guessing - it might even be more than 10dB. The difference is huge between mid and full/full cut. IMO

Maybe Jon knows

I can't find it right now but there was a post here about the time I joined that told how much boost cut and the total scoop on 2 band and 3 band stingrays.

Let's all hit the search feature on this one. LOL the race is on.

Sorry - you guys already know how I do these things.

Turn knobs until sound is good.

Stop turning knobs.

I got no idea is what I'm saying.

The only way that knowing what the db + or - settings are is going to help would be if you know exact settings you want to set them to. Otherwise, you do what Jack and most of the rest of us do.

If I recall correctly it was +/- 15db. Was a long time ago when I read that. Think it was Derek that posted it. Not sure totally on that one either. I can't seem to find the info using search.

I think you may be on to something Tkarter. I don't exactly remember and this is simply my memory, but '16db' keeps coming to mind, so perhaps we read that same post.

How about the center frequencies? Anyone?

If I guessed, I'd say 100Hz, 800Hz, 3kHz.

No fair searching. What do you think?

I'm guessing shelfing filters on bass and treble, think you might be pretty close on the frequencies, Ben

wellllllllllllllllll the reason is to figure out how much to adjust at a time.
if its +-5 you turn it in big turns to adjust sounds
if its like +-10 then you turn it only a little to adjust sounds
if its like say +-20 then you turn it even less

what im asking is how slight of a turn changes the sound, if its a small rang it'll take a large turn to change sound and if it is a large range it'll take the slightest tap on the knob to change it.

i however am seeing a kinda large range lol
not so large a tap throws off the sound but large where the adjustment of sound is very fine

15 sounds right, i remember hearing that
