The Tort Twins

With the recent addition of my Big Al, which looks so good with the Tort guard, and after seeing how great Aussie Mark's Al looks with Black and Tort, I decided I needed to get a Tort guard for my Bongo so it would match Big Al. I think the tort adds a nice touch of class to the black for a great alternate look.

So...without further adieu...some gratuitous bass prn for y'all. Enjoy!

Thanks guys. Yeah, I like having both of them with a Tort pg as they look better together that way - not that that REALLY matters to me but it's kinda nice nonetheless.

I wish I could get some crystal clear pictures like some of you get. I used the "low light" setting on my camera and forced the flash off to get a more even coloration but then the camera ramps up the ISO setting (to 1600 in this case) which tends to make it look grainy. Of course, not using a tripod or anything to help steady my hand doesn't help either.

I sure love playing these basses though!! With flats on both of them it's just magical - love the tone and the feel of both of them!! The fact that they both look supremely cool is a bonus.

Keko, my friend....if I ever sell this Bongo I will definitely keep you in mind. That said, don't hold your breath waiting.

What really keyed me onto having a tort pg on a black body was seeing Aussie Mark's profile pic. Then there were a couple of other pics that were posted somewhere that looked pretty drool-worthy.

Now that I have it on my Bongo I'm really happy with the choice. I like how the tort can look quite dark in some light and how it adds colour but without creating a huge contrast. It just looks classy.
