Thiago and Felipe Campos took quick vacation to the US and came over to Manchester to hang out with Nick and I for the day. They picked up some new gear, and did a LOT of jamming on the showroom floor. JackFFR stopped in for a bit and got some jamming in with them, too! Hopefully the video footage came out well and I can have it uploaded later tonight. We had a great lunch at Corey's Catsup and Mustard (this place is a must if you like burgers and sandwiches with a twist), followed by more jamming, and a trip to GC where Thiago ripped on the Mesa MKV. We grabbed some dinner, and then went back to the store for some more jamming. Thiago and Felipe are fantastic musicians, and they are also great guys and good friends! Thanks for the visit, guys!

Mandatory pics.

New 6-stringers for both, and some BFR T-shirts! (Yes, that's a new-old-stock 2007 LE)

My new T-shirt, with a recipe for a wonderful Brazilian drink that I will have to translate at some point

Felipe was in love with this bass

More later!

thats excellent Pete, thanks for sharing. What other dealer would offer that kind of first class treatment? You guys are the best to people from all over the world.

PS - i'm in love with that bass as well and i don't even play bass.

I want to thank both Thiago and Felipe for both the show (I felt like I was allowed to sit on stage between Petrucci and Myung during a DT concert) and for joining in on my hacking at the couple guitars I was trying out. I actually learned quite a lot too (I know Petrucci stresses alternate picking to speed you up and I got to see Thiago prove that). Both of you guys were great and your guitar and bass skills were way up there. I have no idea how Felipe moves so fast on a 6 string bass........faster than I could even imagine I could do on a skinny 6 stringer.

Have fun while you're in the US and I'm sure you're going to have a tough time figuring out which guitars to bring home. <sigh> Pete even lured me back into the store as I was about to get in my car ("Jack....I just brought over this rosewood neck Luke")....

I got home and practiced "Can't Stop" the way Thiago played it......which I felt was a cooler version than the original RHCP song. I'll get there. <jack repeats.....alternate picking....alternate picking....>

:D

Oh....and thanks Pete for putting up with me once again.

Thiago told me that he was up 2 years ago and was hoping his 2007 LE blue dawn JP would come in while he was here back then. It came in 2 weeks after he left. It came out of the vault where Pete had held it for him for 2 years. It's wicked nice looking, by the way!
