I was browsing around tonight and I decided to go on an all out mission to find some bongo photos to help me decide on which color I want. Anyway long story short - I came across this German website with some really nice photos. i think they speak for themselves.

I think I'm going to order this with the only difference being a black ice pickguard or perhaps white ice
.
What do you think?

okay -

for those of you who have ACTUALLY seen Teal Pearl in real life - is this a pretty close representation? This color is hard to photograph obviously, but some of the photos i've seen look more green and i don't care for them as much... just want to make certain before I pull the trigger.

What I mean to say is that I LOVE the above color. It has just a little more blue undertones to it than green. I hope it looks more like those pics than this pic - i'm hoping it's just the lighting - or if it changes colors similar to the Desert Gold color and it shifts from these two sort of...

Now that I think about it - the top pics look like a lighter/ slightly greener carbon blue pearl.

thoughts?

see the color range is quite vast:

It's the incredible shrinking Lowell!

The teal is certainly a difficult color to photograph. And, like the Desert Gold, there are some color variations out there. I've seen DG Bongos that look more orange, and some that look more gold. And, with the Teal, I've seen some that are more blue, and some that are more green.

But, I like all of the variants. :D

It's just interesting because the bass Lowell is holding is the same one on the rack pictured above...

I think the different shading is caused by one photo being in bright sunlight and the other being taken in shade.

It is a cool color, but it can vary depending on where you're viewing it!

Same with carbon blue pearl and DG....and almost everything, really.

My next Bongo will definitely be Desert Gold; it's just the coolest stage color (IMO).
+1

I did my part...posted a slew of DG pics. Anyone else have some?

Under a red light, that teal would look dark gray, I think. A DG Bongo would look like it's on fire!

In the summertime I play a regular gig outdoors where we face west, and in midsummer we start long before sunset. I got this picture in my mind of what the DG would look like under the rays of the setting sun...that's what decided it for me.

When it arrives, I'm going to look for a perfect setting to take the obligatory photo. Here in New England we've got fall colors that are beyond compare....
