Thinking of exchanging the Bugera

You guys might have saw my post a few weeks ago about the Bugera V22 I bought, well I'm not so sure I want to keep it after playing thru it a little bit. Not really sure if I like digital reverb in my amp, I'd rather spring or none and just use a rack if I really needed it. Also I read this thing isn't a real wood cabinet. Lastly, I'm hearing a lot of weird sounds of like static coming through, maybe a tube, I don't know. Oh yeah, and a misaligned input jack on the bright input which the cable doesnt click in all the way. $350 but I feel there must be something a little better. Wanna make an even exchange because I'm short on dough still.

Did you try the amp before you bought it? I think you would have found those problems then.

I would simply take it back as most places have some kind of return policy I would think.

Out of those, I'd go with the Blackstar.

Seems there are a ton of amp threads on the board lately.

I think you're going to get more advice on these topics in a place like TGP. There are a zillion amps out there these days and it's tough to find people that have real experience with many of them.

I'd also look at Egnater and Bogner. I wasn't going to say anything, but after investigating Bugera online a lot of information came to light, most negative. They are most likely made in China and with cheap parts. Personally I don't like amps that have a PC board in them, with pots mounted on the board. the pots are probably very cheap in quality. Also, when you have a cheaply made PC board and something fries on it, it's usually down for the count and would be expensive to have someone repair it, if it is repairable. I like the tried and true old world stuff. But I have to say that some of the higher quality amps like Mesa, Blackstar, Egnater, etc. seem to be reliable. There are a lot of Mesa Engineering enthusiasts here and from what I have gathered they are built like tanks, their multi channels, functionality and sound is exemplary, and well documented.
The Bugeras are part of the Behringer clan, and to me that spells cheap. Sorry if that offends anyone.
You know, Vai plays Carvin amps, and Satriani plays Peavey. why not look at them?

Well I do know very well about the quality issue. Again I'm at a $350 limit right now so Bogner etc. aren't anywhere in sight. Eventually yes, in a few months, but I need top return this thing since its 30-day. I just need a beater right now so I can get some tracks down.

Blackstar HT-5 user here for home too.

I love it. A LOT.

Seldom am I impressed with amps, and this one impressed me. While the clean setting is a bit sterile, there are few amps that even measure up this much for the price.
