Hum is cancelled whether in serial or parallel.

Also in cases like (Bridge1 parallel Bridge2) serial (Neck parallel Phantom).

I converted my Sr5 H to HS by installing another humbucker in neck postion, but only having north pickup above the guard exposed....Best sound was series wiring for neck pickup and parallel for Bridge pickup

Combined they sound great also

and S pickup solo sounds big and low like a very old school fat P bass....very useable for rock and blues...Motown reggae and jazz

Or with a pick a great" The Stranglers "punk rock sound
