I thought the early 90's Sterlings had the larger bridge like my Rays???

The early ones do the add is wrong. not only that but it also has a flip top battery cover instead of the metal one. Id say there about 10 years off.

That cant be a 93. Not only does it not have the string mutes found on that era of basses it also has the plastic popup battery compartment. A 93 would have the screw in battery cover.

i've never heard of Sterlings having string mutes, did they back in the day?

The Sterling commenced production in 93 with the larger muted “Flea” bridge. There’s also examples of the 93 with trans bridges (“Flea” bridge with mute assembly removed and hex-headed screws replacing the thumb screw adjusters).

The down-sized bridge first appeared in 1996 on the 20th Anniversary Bass.

I think the 20th Anni also introduced the plastic battery compartment (but I’d have to double check).

“TM” (Trade Mark) following the word “Sterling”, on the headstock logo, is in the lower position. It moved to the upper position circa 2000.

On my screen, I can’t see where the serial number is located. In any event, it moved from the down-sized bridge to the neck plate circa 1998.

The Bass in the pic would have to date somewhere from 1996 and 2000.

Working at home now with better conditions rather than my crappy work computer.

There appears to be no serial on the neck plate.

Therefore, it's a circa 96 to 98....my toss is 1997.
