I work for a company that sells the stuff. It's actually NOT a paint, but more like an epoxy. It's a process that you have to mix together two parts for the white base coat. Then after the base is dry, mix together the photoluminescent top coat. It's not cheap either!

Let me know if anyone is seriously interested, as I have a sample kit for $99 that would let you see how the stuff works.

BP, I think the "paint your own" option with just the base coat and no final finish should be introduced as an option for all future lines of EB musical instruments, not just the Music Teen.

BTW, I was thinking something along these lines when I watched the Transatlantic Live in Europe video earlier this evening. Roine Stolt had a very nice looking guitar, most probably painted by himself. Satriani did that too, and a couple of others as well.

I'd love to do a ornameted SR by myself, but there's no way I'm going to try that on one of those gorgeous finishes the EBMM instruments come direct from the factory. Need to find me a beat up one, but a good player... sigh... another one... sigh.... why oh why did I ever come here....

I like some odd finishes and I have a Ric that my friend Corey did a sort of psychedelic Beatles-type painted finish on. If I ever have any money again, I might just talk to him about doing a similar job on my SUB.

I'd love to have a Music Man like that. I sure would.

the someday!

are you on blotter or tab's?

Those little purple dot thingies. Is that bad?

Seriously.... Ritter makes some cool LOOKING basses but some of the finishes are idiotic. Why would one pay $5000 or whatever for a bass that has a guy running towards a headstock past an exit sign? I played a Ritter a week ago and it was a good playing/sounding bass but who would gig something as ridiculously shaped? They remind me of Prince's goofy "symbol" guitar.

I get paid $100-200 per night to play in mainly dumpy bars. I CAN gig my high end SRs, but would never dream of bringing a Ritter! I would look like a moron.

P.S. There are bugs in my head.
