Just cause this looked odd to me... When was the 3-Band Eq intro'd and when did they stop using the headstock mounted truss rod adjustment? JOSH

Great playing indeed. As for the tone, it almost sounds as though were hearing TWO basses.

I take it the other bass you can hear is from the original track that the man in the video is playing over, or....? :)

Just giving you a hard time :)
Although you can't really hear his tone, you can tell by his touch he likely has a killer tone.

Am I the only one who thinks these "play along to a cd while I film myself playing along" videos are a little...sad?

Yup. Especially if the feature headless females fumbling with headphones (how'd that be for a band name?! Steven Wilson would make a song out of that...) as backdrop of the player... however, I love those vids done by real bass teachers, beacuse they're professional and you can really learn something about playing bass.

On another note I really believe in recording yourself to listen back to, it helps to hear or see where you have gone wrong and to correct it

Great playing, great tone, nice bass, but I to do find some of these play along vids a little sad, yes the guy is funky, but then he is playing "along" to a funky bass line so he better sound funky!
