This guy is insane to think that he's gonna get that much for this six. I mean, it's nice and all, but good Lord, this is a full G above retail just for the opening bid. And all you get is the case and tools. It willl be shipped to you for an extra $51.

Sorry, but I paid $500 more than opening bid for BOTH of my actual EVH's.

You would figure that there would have to be some kind of value to this guitar, like EVH spilled soda on this guitar, and the syrup was never removed, etc. ;)

But, if they can sell the "world's longest french fry" on eBay for $202.50, then I guess anything's possible.

What's funny is I just won one off ebay for $653 with a hardshell case AND free shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2539012919&ssPageName=ADME:B:BN:US:1

It's actually in really good condition, too. The ding doesn't bother me in the least because it doesn't affect playability at all and that's why I buy guitars.

There are still great deals to be had on ebay - they've become more and more hard to find, but they're still out there!

That is a nice Axis MP - and it's my fave color for an Axis proper! :D

Guess the seller thinks he's got an EVH or something - pretty clear that he's clueless...

I cruise ebay guitars 10-15 minutes almost daily during the work week - to see what's out there and to get some good laughs. A lot of people are clueless.

Plus, it's so cool when you find a great score. Remember, retail is for suckers.

I emailed the guy suggesting his price might be a little high, seein' as how I can buy a brand new one for $1000 less... Here's his response:

Hold on there,The guitar is a special order. I paid that much for it. You see i Specially ordered this guitar with a heavy birdseye neck. It has many birdseyes on it which is a indication that the neck has a prime cut. As for the regular EB it does not have these features. Also I had Fender Jumbo frets installed along with it.And I chose my color and top. You see you might find one that is Half the price. But its not like this one, believe me

Clearly, he ain't runnin' on all eight cylinders...

Fender Jumbo Frets from EBMM? And they installed it...everyone else, check your boots, is it getting as high over there as it is for me? ;)

"Retail is for suckers"...I SO agree with that quote! Unless it's something that I need a warranty on, no holds barred, eBay is the first choice to fins it cheap.

Especially when you find the diamonds in the rough. When I bought my EVH's, they were selling in the $23-2500 range. I paid $1500 each, but it took a lot of scouring, AND hitting eBay probably 3x a day (thank heavens for the fast Internet connection!)

But I win...every time. :p

Retail is for suckers huh? Ever shopped at Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center? They're the largest single music store in the world. I just custom ordered a Blue Dawn EB JPM With matching headstock, jp inlays, and a piezo for 1752.45. Others have paid over 2 grand for that guitar. they sell it at guitar center for around 21 i'm told. Besides, I'm getting a Brand New, never been played, built for me and noone else guitar from Ernie Ball. At that price, I'll take it!...

Also I'm getting great customer service, I got to play and see a wide selection of guitars before I bought one, and to have it ordered, I only needed 10% of the total price, and so long as I pay 10% every month, I can keep it on layaway. So what I couldnt' afford before just became completely affordable.

They keep their current stock updated on their website. Check them out.

That's priceless! :p It would take someone about 5 minutes of research on the Internet to figure out what that guitar is worth! To quote the good Bugs: "What a maroon!" :D

Hey,

Thanks for starting this thread, since I was looking for other guys with really BAd deals, I found a really good one... Check it out... $200 and I used the "but it now" option. I know, I know, it's an OLP, not an actual Ernie Ball, but for $200 I get a Blue Sparkle. Not a bad deal.

Does it have a case?

Gig bag, and Cable, and it was actually $180 w/ $20 shipping, it's also brand new, and I'm gonna put a Piezo in and replace the Pups with Dimarzio's. It has a Basswood body and a rosewood fretboard.
