When I first got the phone call a few months back I actually thought it might have been an April fool. Tomorrow I drive out to the lovely region of "basse-normandie", two hours drive west of Paris, for a gig. The gig is a big function for a society who, in French (obviously) call themselves...

Le confrerie des chevaliers du goûte-boudin

which not too roughly translates to English as...

The Brotherhood of the knights of black pudding tasting!!

Now, seeing as we're an international forum, I'm quite sure that there are a lot of knuckleheads who love their puddings, particularly I'd imagine, the Irish, Scots, Welsh, English and Germans. Ireland's own dear Colinboy comes from the Irish county that makes the arguably the best, if not the most famous, pudding in Ireland/the world so I'm quite sure he'll be jealous as all hell! :D

So, think of me tomorrow night, my dear friends, as I suffer my way through an eight (yes, 8) course meal before treating the lovely people of basse normandie to "a bit of a do" with some Irish music.

The only downside is that Michelle, my beloved Silhouette Special, stays at home as only my mandolin is required.

Have a great weekend y'all!

K.

And I may end up missing all that lovely black pudding. I've just come home from a gig to find water dripping through my ceiling from the apartment upstairs. Fan-bloody-tastic! Just what I need. Falling asleep to the sound of water drops in a bucket.

Bad times. Hope that gets fixed without too much hassle.

Was Michelle anywhere near the water?

No Michelle, is safe and dry. I have a feeling that this could be a while getting fixed. Partly because it's France and partly because the landlord upstairs and the tenants are,, well, lets just say less than ideal neighbours! Nothing can be done on a Sunday and I think tomorrow will be a day of arguing with people trying to get somebody, somewhere to act.

Anyhoo, I hope you've all had a good weekend. Black pudding gig was very tiring but good.
