Because it changes so dramatically depending on the angle of the light.

It's just freakin' awesome. And the Bongo's curves make it even better.

That is a very nice colour for the Bongo. The light effect is cool in those pics. A feature I don't get with my black ray.

Just curious - do you have a clip of some kind holding your bass cable to the botttom straploc? I stepped on my cable again the other day and yanked it out - not good!

No, I don't have any kind of clip. I just run the cable between the strap and the bass, from back to front (that's important, or the cable will get in your way). It's exactly what you see. The Bongo DEFINITELY likes right-angle plugs. Running it like I do, stepping on the cable has no effect other than embarrassment. The strap pin takes up the bulk of the shock, and the stress on the jack is not great because of the right-angle plug.

Re the look.... The curves of the Bongo accentuate the effect, especially with flash photography. Of course, the curves of our singer help....

Tony, is THIS enough to make you cross the Hudson?

Hm?

:D

And when is your next gig, anyway?

PS: Her name is Liza, and she's a real treat. Her charisma and stage presence is awesome, and more than makes up for my ugly mug. We're lucky to have her.

PPS: Spot the amps if you can. ALL of the PA and amplification, plus an 88-key keyboard, my bass and the keyboard player, fit inside my Honda Fit. That's for a five-piece band.

I'd just like to add that the bongo, and desert gold in particular, are strikingly attractive.

And that I wish I got a fit's gas mileage.

It could be pink and say TARDIS.

I would laugh.

Great pics - and yes, Desert Gold shines bright - very nice.

Since you asked, the Candy Red Bongo makes an appearance this coming Saturday for our encore performance "Concert in the Park" in Hardyston, NJ.

P.S. - Tony is my Dad... ;)
