I guess because of the history and genealogy of the MM brand, Fender has a lot to do with MM basses. Just my 2 cents…

They botched it and blamed Facebook and Europe. They have too much debt and only 400 million of the 700 million of sales is fender branded.

Hey Bob. I realise that. What I meant was is that it wasn't directly related to MM Bass guitars (as such) and perhaps more appropriate for General Music Discussion.

Fair point.

Now that it is in Off Topic I imagine that most MM players, like me, feel a touch of sadness that such an iconic brand as Fender can potentially become very diluted by this flotation. I know John Hall at Rickenbacker has fiercely stuck to his family and company ideology that their instruments should not be out sourced or design copyright infringed; though this gets harder year on year.

From my experience of EBMM instruments they are a premium product, built without compromise and retailing for sensible money. For the end user this is as good as it gets IMHO.Long many this continue.
