They will work and won't damage anything, but they won't have a wound third G string, and won't be made of the bronze materials most acoustic strings are made from. They'll sound thin and bright compared to regular acoustic strings as a result. Note that if your guitar was set up for regular gauge acoustic strings, the lighter gauge slinkies may require that your truss rod be adjusted accordingly to prevent any backbow.
Thanks. But would the sound differ? I am using a yamaha F310. its currently on yamaha strings and i have never once adjusted the neck, which way to turn the screw?
