Yeah, but I would think that it's down to the way that the audio was recorded (ie via the camcorder built in mic) rather than the actual sound in the venue.
With the mic being so far away from the source, it's never an accurate representation of the room sound.
I engineer sound for a few amateur musical theatre productions and sometimes people record them. They are always shocked by the difference in the recorded sound, compared to how it actually sounds in the room.
