When referring to an Axis or any other guitar from this fine family, is the company "Ernie Ball", "Music Man", or "Ernie Ball Music Man"? I see them all used and was curious as to which is technically correct.

The guitar and bass company as I understand it is Music Man, see the web site. It was bought by Ernie Ball. I tend to refer to them as EBMM's, Ernie Ball/Music Man's. But that's just me.

but we are all clear that Music Man is two words Right? Sometimes I think that it should be Musicman as 1 word. How wrong is that?

Some online companies list their products as either under 'Music Man' or under 'Ernie Ball' - too bad, it's an awkward name - however it's unmistakable (ironically).....also the instruments themselves do sport both names. In any case - a very cool company. Whats in a name?

When I search eBay for an Axis, I’ll find different posts under these below depending on how the seller lists it.

I tend to think of the old Leo-era instruments when I just see "Music Man"; I tend to use EBMM for the instruments that came out after EB purchased the company from bankruptcy.

Of course I'm old enough to remember the originals from back when I started playing at the end of the 70s:eek:; I even had a Music Man amp from 1981-1986 - sold it when I took a "sabattical" from playing 1986-1992.

Didn't the SUB/SUB1 also only say Music Man.... I haven't owned one in a while either.

Yep!

Yeah, I seem to vaguely (and possibly wrongly) remember that there was a plan to go with only Music Man on the instruments and leave the Ernie Ball name strictly to the strings and accessories (hence the Bongo and SUB thing). I guess that plan is on hold. Personally, I quite proud to have the EB name on my headstock!
