This Saturday - The Bongo Lands In Stoke on Trent

Hey guys!

I've got my first gig in about 6 months this saturday, great venue, should be great crowd.

Here's the thing, I don't think i've EVER seen anyone playing a bongo anywhere near this awful city I call home. Will they know what hit them!! MWA HA HA HA!!

sooo flippin excited to get Barbarella out and change a few ossicles permanently for the first time!

I agree, Stoke on Trent is the pits. I did some research at Keele University about 7 years ago, so know Stoke a bit. I lived in Crewe at the time though, which is even worse, unless you like take away fast food.

Congrats on the gig, I hope it goes well, what sort of music you playing?

just think, mint egyptian smoke 4H.. freshly cleaned to uberfection, oiled, licked and humming with anticipation at being let loose on the masses (that is fat cats stoke )

our new material suits it so well.. oooh mama. well what wouldn't!

we play kind of a mix of styles really, i love funky grooves but the guitarist is into more traditional zep kinda stuff, whereas the drummer loves hard fast beats (but always always submits to the irresitable funk bongo)

people have compared us to the chilli's (but i don't see it - i think thats probably just some of the grooves comin through)

saying that, some of our more popular tunes are anthemic punk stylee..

sorry mate, started to ramble... hopefully will have an album to push before spring comes!!

I had football shoes Adidas Stoke once. They were the cheapest model...

although i must say, i've had plenty of much much much hotter ladies in that place.

and believe it or not, that place has had some massive bands on (well, massive for stoke)

I've gigged my Egyptian Smoke Bongo in Derby, and also in Albrighton (nr Wolverhampton) plus many other places, but not in Stoke.
