Pardon my stupidity, but how do these e-parties work? Does everyone need a webcam? Is there some kind of chat room that gets used? I plan on joining myself, but I'm just curious how it's going to work.

Good question.
Take a look at the first post in this thread and the hyperlink takes you to "last year's party".
On the night of the party I'll set up a thread and use it just like a chat room.
I may create a separate thread where participants can post answers to questions and party games.
Winners will receive a "prize" - once again see the first post.
I must admit the request to get your cameras at the ready is a bit confusing! I intend to show a film clip showing a feat of dexterity and the first person to replicate that feat and post it back(via a you tube/photobucket link) will win a prize.
Just trying to think up stoopid things to do!!
I tried the party for the first time last year - let's see how it goes this year and who knows - it may become an annual event.

Ah ok. I was thinking that there would be some kind of webcam conference or something so that we could all possibly see each other. Now I'll have to figure out how to use my webcam to video something and post it on youtube (something I have yet to do).
Maybe a clip of my BFR Petrucci or my new Axis SS.

and to ALL that are in the Greater Vancouver Regional District (waaaaay out in the valley too) are welcome to join in here @ the BBQ @ the Duck Pond whilst the on-line party swings!
should have about 3 computers to log on to and many, many, bass type things and amps to play with.
