We love you douglas, don't quit being adouglas, you're ok with me cause I called you a muppet and you can take a joke, you know sh|t happens, always has, always will. Cheer up and step away from arguments :D

"don't worry about a ting... cause every liccle ting's gonna be alright" :)

I think some decaf is in order.

Calm down, please. There's no need for personal attacks here.

I didn't blame anyone else or qualify my mistake. One of the batteries was too big to seat properly... that's a fact, and its MY fault for not getting batteries that fit better.

I didn't compare a personal oversight to a life-or-death situation, I used that disaster as an illustration of how complex systems increase the chance of failure due to human error.

More words have been devoted to griping about me than I wrote in the first place.

Apology? I suppose I should apologize for assuming that a 9-volt battery would fit into a compartment designed to hold a 9-volt battery. Yep. Guilty as charged!

Still blaming the battery, I see.

Looking forward to the next "Missing the forest for the trees" Gig Tip thread.

Wow!

What should the guy do, blame EBMM for not making a battery compartment that is just slightly oversized so it can compensate for all of the different battery manufacturers tolerence variations? Absolutely, incredibly, crazy that you guys are still going after this... He's already stated that it's his own fault, why not do everyone a favor and just let it go... Everyone can use whatever batteries they want and life is good... Heck, why not switch to ray-o-vac if it's what turns your crank... just my $.02, which nobody on here asked for, but after reading all of this I just HAD to share....

The only time I used a Duracell was in a Ovation Adamas 12 string... that battery worked well for years, but the fun started when I wanted to get the dead battery OUT of the compartment. Took the better of half an hour to shake it out of the compartment, with constant fear of somehow damaging a rare guitar...

Yes. I blame the battery.

And I never buy Duracells. Not if there's any alternative.

Okay.

Some 9 volt batteries fit into the battery compartment better than other 9 volt batteries.

Be sure to check that yours are working properly before hitting the stage.

Moving on.

Actually I was looking forwardd to bringing back the bent knob thread...Kids we dont make the battery box. If they made one that would fit every possible battery we would buy one.

I will say that my favorite person to argue with is someone who extends the argument to absurdity or beyond. The space shuttle was supposed to make his argument and backfired....

I have a little golf club out in the woods that is dying. They asked for my help and I told them that if they wanted younger members they needed to address the dress code...Jeans are part of life. The first argument was..." Then we will have holy and dirty jeans with hats on backwards and biker jackets" I said to the room "How many of you do to dinner with your friends and they have biker jackets on?" I bet they wished they could fit the space shuttle disastaer in there....
