I have a Sterling HS, Warwick Thumb BO and a Fender Mustang. I've had the Sterling for over 1-1/2 years and the Warwick for about 4 months. The Fender is even newer.

I was very excited when I purchased my Thumb. But over time I have found that I still prefer my Sterling over the Thumb. The Sterling is just so comfortable to play. It feels like it was custom made for me. Sure the Thumb is enjoyable but I actually prefer my Mustang over the Thumb. All of this is very interesting to me when I consider that the Thumb now sells for almost twice the price of my Sterling and five times the price of my Mustang. Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice, well made bass but it's overpriced. I've actually considered selling the Thumb.

FYI, the Fender is the first Fender that I have found that is absolutely flawless in every way. I don't know how many Fenders I had and returned shortly. Although it's not replacement for my Sterling, it's a great little bass. Of course one could make an argument that it's not truly a Fender because it is made under contract for Fender by a Japanese manufacturer who also makes other brands. But I'll leave that one to the Fender purists. On a side note, this is my third Mustang. All were purchased NIB. The first had fret sprout so bad that you could saw wood planks with the neck. The second one had some fret sprout, but the worst problems were that the nut was cut too low causing buzzing and I couldn't get enough neck relief, even with the truss rod backed all the way off. I found that the truss rod nut was barely threaded on the truss road when I took the neck off to adjust it.

Given the amount of product EBMM ships I doubt you'll find better QC in the industry, and it's no surprise: their continuity is great; they've been making guitars and basses in SLO for nearly a quarter century.

Enjoy your Fender and your Warwick-- while you can. One or both will be gone soon, sold to pay for your second EBMM. Then whatever's left will go to finance your third, and your fourth and it doesn't stop and then your girlfriend gets pissed off because the cases are cluttering up the dining room and when one of her friends trips on a cord and tears her ACL...well, that's when the **** really hits the fan. But cheer up: you'll have your Balls to play with when the ex-girlfriend invites her new boyfriend to help her move out of your place. I really felt sorry for him when she bitched at him for sloshing water out of the aquarium onto her suede slingbacks. I think he really wanted to grab a beer and jam, but she's got him on a tight leash, you know. He seemed so whipped when he carried her box of Louis Vuitton handbags to his car.

Yeah, good times...

wow...she's got a firm grip on the nuts, eh?

I don't know if I could deal with a girlfriend who didn't like Balls laying around. :)

"would you please sell some of your basses?"
"would you please sell some of your shoes?"
^can't see that ending well.

Well, to be honest, that scene was a dramatization incorporating moments from My Failed Rlationships' Greatest Hits, Volume Three. The point I was laboring to make is that once you own a Musicman it's difficult to get worked up about a Fender or a Warwick...
