I am finally getting a Petrucci, and it is due in on Thursday. Man, I can't wait. Too bad Dubaldo's is on the East Coast and I am in California. :)

Will post pictures as soon as it arrives. This is going to be a long couple of days.

I just played live with my JP this weekend with keys, bass, drums & acoustic Taylor. I've had the guitar for less than a month. It really cut through the mix & had a nice chunky sound though by Mesa. I found I needed only a bit of compression & some delay. I got a pretty good strat sound with the middle position and the burn channel was perfect for the lead tone I needed.

I wish I could get more of a shimmering kind of clean out of it, but I think the basswood body has a lot to do with the chunky nature. I'm really glad I got the guitar. It was a closet queen with almost no fret wear & the guitar is 10 years old. I thought it was a great deal for $1000 (no piezo).

I am really excited by the piezo option. From all of the videos I have seen, it is a very convincing acoustic sound. With some of the songs I am writing/recording, that will end up being a very useful feature when we get out there and play live. Man, I can't wait!!!!! Have I said that before? LOL.

Hey Rockerjt, bring that baby out to a jam night so we can see it "live"!! Isn't a jam night up there around the Folsom area??

You know, I think so, although I can't remember where. I think it is in Del Paso Heights, but they may do one in Folsom at The Powerhouse Pub. I'll have to check.

Thanks Peter. Only 2 more days, supposed to arrive Thursday. UPS is so inconsistent out here though with delivery times. They almost always show up in the late afternoon, but my Mark 5 showed up early in the day when it arrived, so hopefully the JP will arrive early too.

The piezo is awesome! Thanks for the order, I hope you love the guitar.

I am sure I will; it seems like such a well thought out instrument, plus the neck is smaller, which will work for me and my hands (no small hands jokes, LOL....the myth isn't true anyway).

I will definitely take some pictures, I just hope that everyone doesn't say, "Oh man, more pics of another Mystic Dream JP". :) I'll probably get some video going when I get my band back out there too.

2 more days.

Oh you will like it, yes you will, congrats and remember the no pics no guitar rule.

Congrats on the new JP - I'm confident you'll love it. Mine has been outstanding, with the exception of one MAJOR problem: when I played it, for some reason, I wasn't able to immediately bust out sixteenth notes at 208 BPM. I mean, COME ON, the guitar has JP's name right on it! How does it not immediately enable me play just like my hero? :p

All kidding aside, my JP is one of the finest instruments I've ever owned. The piezo is awesome, and the whole guitar is just a joy to play.

Congrats and I am sure it will be everything you thought it would be, in my case sometimes some have been more than I expected! Boy does time go slow when you are waiting for that truck.

Man, you are telling me. I am constantly checking the tracking updates, just so I know it is on time. I need some meds.
