TI's & a 30th Anni Stingray?

I recently killed the original round wound E-string on my 30th Anni Stingray while conditioning the fingerboard with lemon oil (100% natural of course). Stupid me knocked the bottle over and the only place it went was on and along the E.

I did a quick search on this forum for preferred strings on a 30th Anni and saw quite a few responses suggesting TI flats. I've got a spare set laying around here, but seem to remember that they're not compatible with string-through body stringing. Is that correct?

One of the things I really love about the 30th is the string-through body option and wish to keep the bass strung like that. If TIs wont go through the body, will EB flats? I've never used any other flats, but am more than willing to go the EB route if I can string them through the body.

Any suggestions welcomed.

The concern with flats is centered around the idea that the extreme break over the bridge after stringing through the body will be detrimental to the string.

I've personally strung TIs and EBs through the bodies of numerous basses, including a 30th SR4 with no problems whatsoever.

I think the internet experts who talk about this "problem" haven't used flatwounds in a very, very long time.

Andy, my 30th has been wearing TIs for two years with no issues.

Bath the soaked E string in denatured alcool for a day. Will be good as new.

Everything else: Jack & Mark already got that covered.
