i bought some Titanium coated slinky's (11's)......... an have to say, im not that impressed, as after all the hype, my wound strings lost their snap after only a day and the plain strings are all stained and not as bright after a couple of days. (please note i wash my hands an clean the strings everytime i play).

so really i cant see the benfit of these strings.....

what are other peoples experiences with them?

Everybody has a different acidic make up.....we have had nothing but good comments to date. Sorry to hear you have a problem....maybe contacting customer service would be better than slaging us on our forum?

Au contraire, mon ami!

BP in your defence I want to confirm that I've fitted a set of these coated strings to my son's guitar more than 3 weeks ago.

Now if you knew my son, that kid plays his guitar 24/7 being in a wheelchair, when he's not at school or studying that's all he does, he plays and records songs on his JamVox, he sweats a lot but he wipes his strings before an after every time, right? Well to our amazement those strings are still sounding bright and there are absolute no signs of rust or darkening of the plain (unwound) strings which used to happen a lot to his previous brand, D'Add...o's

He is definately a fan and said he will never switch back to the other brand, so now I will have to buy these sets in bulk because its cheaper to by 10 sets than one every month.

Big Poppa,

i wasnt trying to slag them off, its just maybe i expected more out of the product because of all the hype. (there is such a thing as biggin something up too much....).

the main reason for the post was to gauge other peoples experiences to see whether im being over crytical or not....... ive got a couple more sets so ill pop another set on maybe in a couple of weeks an see how i get on with them.

I have been using them since they came out and not any issues, sound great and last longer, like BP said body chemisty i.e. acidity in your hands may cause issues or climate, i use all different types of EB strings and never had an issue with any of them.

I put my first set on yesterday and I love them so far. Same great tone and feel. I can't even tell there is a coating, which is a good thing.

thaas

just wanna say thanks to all at EBMM / Strings & Things for contacting me an offering to replace the strings to see if i get on better with another set.

this really shows how dedicated and proud of their products they are.

if only all companies could have the same pride and customer service as this.

ive had a different set of titanium 11's on for over a week now and this set is still as snappy as the day i put them on, so i think i must have been unlucky with a dodgy first set. so i will definately be purchasing some more!

many thanks again.

Tommy. :)

Hi im new here and i found this after researching which strings to pick for my new guitar. Its my first electric and I'm still a nub at it, can play one or two songs though and really enjoy playing. Anyways, i put the Slinky coated titanium 10s on my guitar and for the first 3 days they were a charm and then i noticed that on the thin e string the coating started to come off and now it looks like there is rust on it. Is that normal or have i done something wrong. Also it looks like the b and g string are starting to do the same. What i just noticed as well is that on the e string the frets apparently wore off the coating as well. What can i do.

I tried a set of the coated 80/20 bronze on my Breedlove and loved 'em! Going on 6 weeks now and no signs of deadness. I would normally have changed un-coated strings by now...

(plus, the gold 1st and 2nd strings look really cool:))
