OK...the worse thing in the world is to steal. To steal from me will bring a ton of bad karma on you. Someone in my band has stolen from me. He took my precious. He sold it to support his "habit" as he stated to me in a text message. He says he "feels terrible" and he is "sorry". I can't argue...after today, he will feel terrible and he is sorry. My LE is my baby. My LE is my pride and joy. I put all those scars on her and she never complained. She never let me down no matter how hard I played her. She was the one that was envied. She made sound guys comment on her ferociousness. She was the one Big Poppa recommended to me. Now, she is gone.

I detest a thief. I detest a liar.

<EDIT> Under the advice of ernie....some things here have changed. Thanks ernie...bovine....everyone else!

Man, that's bad news.

I've never had something like that stolen from me, but I've been through the anger of a couple of break-ins at my home, the second time my little sister and her boyfriend disturbed them. Fortunately, no-one was hurt which was the important thing.

You have to do what's right for you, but be careful ok?

(I'm not talking about physical care, I'm talking about staying on the right side of the law, if it's anything like over here, you'll be the one that gets it in the neck)

It should not be good, but it also shouldn't put you in a bad position.

1. File a police report.

2. Gather up scumbucket and take him to the place of sale.

3. Make him explain that he sold stolen property.

4. Number 3 may require a field telephone. (You know what I mean.)

But definitely do number one, or there's no recourse.

Hey Koogs,

OMG! I HATE it when people steal from me, nothing makes me madder! I feel your pain. As we all know, an addict's an addict's an addict. You are definitely a patient and loyal friend to this addict. I would have put itching powder in his trousers and taken out the trash on him a long time ago, that is the only thing to do with addicts, kick 'em out of your life like the trash they are. I am unbelieveably sorry about your bass and hope that the party he sold it to isn't as tweeked out as he is.

He may be "sorry" now, but he's gonna feel even "sorrier" once he realizes the friend that he lost.

Find out who he sold it to and get your bass back!!

I had a "friend" do the same thing to me, but he pawned the PA we were using that was lent from my uncle. I was able to get it back though.

Drugs suck!

Bovine...I will keep that in mind. As always, you were one who's advice I always considered. You know what I mean....;) Thanks man.

Beth, you are right. However, I did not know of any "habits" he may have had. I am done. This is just not acceptable to me what so ever.

Everyone else....you are right. I know it, but I am not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer and sometimes my thought process doesn't work right. I will consider the advice.

Still, this is not going to be good. I can feel it....call it a gut feeling.

So sorry to hear of this :( I know it will work out for you in the end.
I'll never understand how some people can do things and look at themselves in the mirror. I guess they just don't look at themselves in the mirror!

Just keep your cool and be a better person than he is.

Good luck and hang in there!

Hey dude this is heavy stuff, the law is the law.if you know who he sold it to you can get it back as it is still againt the law to be in recipt of stolen goods, trust me on this its the only way to get your baby back is to go to the cops.

Getting it back is what is important here!!!!

The choice you make here could effect the rest of your life.

My first reaction would be to beat the guy to death, but I hope i would be strong enough to do it right.

Best of luck whatever you do

I think that the guy who stole Koog's bass looks at his nostrils plenty in the mirror. By now, though, his eyes are probably just soulless lumps of coal.

Call the cops or at least find out who he sold it to and TELL THEM that you are calling the cops.

They obviously know the bass is hot and I'm sure you are smart enough to have registered, wrote down or posted the Serial # on EMBB, so make sure you have that info with you.

Act quick though. Musical instruments can have SN's and other destinguishing marks removed pretty quickly. Then you are completely SOL.

Absolutley koog!! Get the bass back. Your "friend" was dumb enough to text you, so there is the "confession". Take the police to where the bass is, you'll have back in no time. Your "buddy's" cell phone records, etc can lead you right to it if he doesnt give it up!

Keep your head...we are all behind you here. (for what that matters...)

Oh Koogie I'm so so sorry! I really hope you can get it back.

But I want to emphasise everything the other guys have said:

CALL THE POLICE. Once you've got it back you can beat him to a pulp!!!
