Thanks Guys.. Well it arrived and it is beautiful.. And the sound.. OMG.. It was love at first sight and hearing for me..

I think I will call her "Blue Thunder"... Like I am sure that name has not already been used..

I do have 2 more questions..

1. How do you guys put the strap in the case while attached to the Bass? I have the Ernie ball Leather one.. Should I be concerned my strap would scratch the bass? Do you try and put the strap under or on top and to the side if the bass??? It seems like it really only works on top.. Just dont want to scratch my Baby..

2. The E string when I fret it at position one, has to be Fretted REALLY hard to not get a Buzz.. Is this normal or could something be a little off(it was in tune when I got it) I dont really notice this on any other frets then position one and the E string(And maybe slightly on the A string at position one as well but not near as much as the E string..

Congrats on your new Bongo! I am GASing for a Bongo 4H - killer finish to0 imho....

Why leave the strap on the bass while in case? I just unlock my strap and place in the case storage area....the re-lock it prior to playing.

How far did the bass travel? Maybe a quick set-up from your local tech?

I always take off my strap and fold it up in the case. If the E string is buzzing just slightly, just adjust the neck at the truss wheel. Maybe a 1/4 of a turn counter clockwise and that should eliminate the buzz.

For me, once the bass arrives the case goes in the box and into storage. I keep my regularly used basses out on stands and use gig bags.

I was actually thinking that.. Being I am a beginner I wont be taking it out of my house much for now.. And I have a good padded gig bag I could use..

Don't be afraid. Just put a small screwdriver or nail into the truss wheel and slightly adjust it about a quarter turn counter clockwise. That is what the truss rod wheel is for. Super easy to use.

Ahhhh I see what you are saying.. LOL I had never even see a truss rod wheel.. So I am 100% sure when you say counter clockwise, is that as if you were looking from the body down towards the headstock? Or looking from the head stock towards the body? But it does look easy enough..

I am a minion of Lord Bongo and I approve of this thread.

Re setup, since you're a "chicken beginner." Do some searching about setups. The biggest mistake beginners make is thinking they need to adjust the saddles to raise or lower the strings. Not so... mess around all you like with the trussrod, but leave the bridge alone. (I've never had to adjust my bridge at all except when changing string gauges.)

Re the straplock installation:

- Don't go insane with the screwdriver. A few years ago some poor soul around here tried to over-tighten the screws and actually cracked his finish. Be firm enough to get the job done.
- There are special nylon washers under the strap buttons. Don't lose them. Customer service will send you new ones if you do, so no big worries, but be aware that you cannot get them locally. The one on the strap horn is different from the one on the tail.
- I've found through experience on multiple basses that the screws may loosen a bit after installation even though they're the same size as stock. Don't be afraid to put a drop of wood glue in the hole to secure them. The toothpick-and-glue trick is also handy and works great -- that's where you stick a toothpick in the hole, break it off flush, put in a drop of wood glue, and then insert your screw. The extra bit of wood gives the screw more to bite into.
- The bass won't fit in the case with the straplocks on. Like everyone else, I take the strap off, fold it up and put it in the storage area.

Never mind on this.. I think I see now.. You want to look at it as the rod goes down the neck..

There is a video somewhere that MM put out about how to use the truss rod wheel. I will try and find it and post it later for you. It really has helped me with one of mine.

Yup. More relief = less fret buzz = higher action = more bow = slacker truss rod.

That worked "Perfect" and I learned something Thanks...

BUT anyone suggested a good tool to do this... I tried 2 different small screwdrivers that would fit in the hole and both of them bent.. Seems like the smaller screwdriver that fit in the hole bend easy..

But the sound is perfect now.. No more Buzzing..

I had the same issue and yes, the wheel can be somewhat hard to turn because the neck is under tension. I have a small screwdriver that I sue. It is also bent but now it is my designated MM truss rod wheel adjuster.
