No sir, it will be another double humbucker. I know it's a bit redundant, but I'm still a a bit wary of the single humbucker model.

*quickly and furtively checking for Scott Ball presence*

If and when I decide to sell my natural Stingray 5....that's when I would get the single PU Bongo. Done this way, it doesn't feel like much of a risk, since the SR5 is a single pickup bass, too.

Does that make sense?

C'mon, Bov. You've got to have at least one SR in your arsenal.

I dunno--paradigm shifts happen all the time. I say you go for a single humbucker Bongo.

You can always, you know, get another SR5 again for XMas, or something. :D

You aren't really going to let me be the first one to have all three Bongo types, are you?

Heh...I just spoke with Gard at Bass Central. Just to, you know.....inquire....

Now the only question is whether it's worth the wrath of Law School Girlfriend.

My money on Bovine to be the first to have all three. I know we wouldnt have to try hard to talk him into it.

I'm still on the fence about my Stingray 5.

Anyone need a beautiful, minty fresh natural finish rosewood board SR5?

If I could get 900 for it, I'd buy the damned single pickup.

Well, I don't mean to. I like this bass a LOT. I've had seven or eight Stingray 5s and this is definitely in the top two category. It isn't heavy like some of the other naturals I've tried......it sounds good, it plays good and it looks good.

I'm probably an idiot to even consider it, but what can I do?

Scott Ball calls my house in the middle of the night and does this evil whisper.

"Siiiiiiingllllllllllllle piiiiiiiiiiickuuuuuuuuup Booooooongooooooooo."

Then he laughs like Snidely Whiplash and hangs up.

So you see what I'm up against here.

Hm... I'm lookin' at yer Bongos and noticed how the carbon blue (?) 4, the one on the right side in the first pic, has white edges on the pickguard. In my opinion, it kinda seems like a stark contrast that doesn't fit as well as the pickguard does on your carbon blue (?) 5. Is the PG on the carbon blue four banger stock?

No sir, it is not. That's a custom made pickguard.

Good eyeballs, dude.

The fiver is sapphire black. Kind of hard to tell in those photos, I know.
