Very cool - he will never forget this and will never sell that guitar!
Permit me a trip down memory lane - I still have my first "good" guitar; it's a Fender Lead II and I'll never sell it because my dad got it for me back in '79. It was probably one of about 3 times he ever went into a music shop and the only time he ever bought anything - so it's a great memory (photography was his hobby and I always supected he always hoped I would catch the camera bug). So while many others have come and gone that one will always stay.
You son will feel the same way about his Dargie II JP6.
Also the last 2 photos are great - really show how the color changes from green to gold.
I discovered Music Man and the JP6 by watching Dream Theater's DVD of their recording of Systematic Chaos... He really started cruising the website and fell in love with the Mystic Dream version... I took him to a Guitar Center and he tried a Metallic Olive one there, loved the feel of the neck and the fretboard so much that I knew then that I would get him one... then I saw the limited edition run of the DDII and knew that had to be the one... found one on Ebay and was just leery of buying one there so checked out other dealers that were recommended and found one that was the same price as on ebay so it was a no brainer. Now he will use it when he plays on stage with his "School of rock" band in a few weeks. I'll have to post some pictures!!!
