Anyone have this problem on the all metal three way switch. It is now getting stuck and making a popping noise. Anyone have a remedy for this? Thanks Frank

Firstly, I will try to use some contact cleaner. Most of the time it's enough.
If it still does not work correctly, I would check the soldering (but on a Music Man I doubt it can be the problem).
After that ... well you have to change the component.

Good luck

François, I assume it's an open open switch or is it closed/sealed?

If it is open, then pieces of dust or dirt can get in there and cause issues. I found it to be a frequent (if easily solved) problem on Gibs*ns where there is sometimes saw dust and wood chips in the control cavities! Music Man run a cleaner factory but any time the pickguard comes off there is opportunity for something to get in there and get caught in the switch.

Fortunately, if the worst comes to the worst and the switch need to be replaced, it should be a fast and cheap job.

If you do opt for a change, consider the DiMarzio EP1111 three way, four pole, toggle switch.

It's a solid bit of kit, and great for JP6 style switching.

sound like time for a new switch - here's another source for a 3way 4 pole to enable some wiring variations other than stock....
4pdt switch
