Any of you that know Tommy know that he is a helluva player. But he's also a helluva woodworker and guitar repair Guru :D

Well I Just got my '91 Morse neck back from Tommy, who very graciously offered to remove the lacquer and re-shape it to the profile he'd done on his '90 Morse neck. Let me tell you ... this is one of the sweetest necks I've seen and feels like absolute butter!!!

The way he's done it, and with the oil/wax coats, you're hard pressed to even tell where the wood meets the lacquered areas - it's just that smooth a job. This thing now fits my hand like a glove :D :D :D

Tommy turned this around in a day, and he's such a good guy he wouldn't take a penny from me. I'm still coming up with creative ways to thank him.

All I've got to say is- Tommy, you're one good egg ;)

Some pics out of the box:

This confirms that Tommy was indeed working on your guitar when he and I spoke.

He mentioned that he was sanding your Morse neck and it certainly SOUNDED like he was sanding a neck...or scratching something.

Another example of eb forum folk doing nice things for each other.

Yeah! Keith sent me pictures he took and I think they turned out fantastic. Made me feel good. I still have a few OH guitar picks left if anyone wants them.

Awesome! I'm actually sending one of my guitars to Tommy sometime next week for a refret (as soon as el Jardinero finishes pimpin my JP) :D

Hey Pete,
You might be able to convince him to trade the refret for that new Y2D he's got on order... ;) j/k!

How about a holiday meet-up in the mid-Atlantic region?

You'd better check with Tommy before offering ;).... I know he and Sean are planning on a northern journey around Turkey Day to inspect/receive their y2ds

I could probably visit as far down as VA (where little sister lives) if you get something organized for after Thanksgiving

I like the sounds of all this! My days off are Nov. 22 - 27. Actually I have to work until about noon on the 22nd, but I was thinking about pointing the car up I-95 (gas prices be damned) and driving like the devil is chasing me out of georgia (he's still down here, looking for souls to steal, and still in a bind because he's way behind...) to arrive in Wilmington at a certain Shredder/Black Belt duo's doorstep at some ungodly hour of the night...

With guitars in tow, of course.

I'd really look forward to an opportunity to meet a few other forum members, having blown a big chance once already...that is, if I'm able to stop staring at my new Y2D...
