A cousin was at my house yesterday.. he's a very good country player.. chicken pickin' and all that.. had a minor radio hit in the early 80s.

I handed him my JP6 running with my clean amp sound and the piezo through my PA system.

I've never heard such sound out of my rig. It sounded as country as anything!

Hand a great player a great guitar and you'll hear the player.

Especially with country players. They do so much hybrid picking, I think the 'tone is in the hands' philosophy applies even more to them. Love watching a good country player

I knew a guy in my town who was in a modern country band. He was a fantastic player, and his main axe was an all-rosewood ASS . Great guitar, but for country? I swear, when you heard him play, it sounded like a Tele.

Definitely agree here. Tone begins with your head and inner ears and then comes out through your hands, then that's just edited by your amp and effects; again, to what your inner ear likes. Still the first output of it is your hands though. Hybrid pickers are ridiculous.

Haha.. I didn't snap any pics or shoot video. Next time I will though!
I'll see if I can dig anything up on the 'net but I doubt it.

He was in a band called Larry Lee Jones and the Sidemen. They got a bit of radio airplay with their song "Sittin' in Atlanta Station" somewhere around 1983 I'd guess? His name is J.C. Muenzer.. huge talent.

Ahh, found a pic on the web to prove he exists.

He's the guy on the right with the strat, not the tele player up font (that's Larry Lee Jones).
