I have a Toneport and like it a lot.
I can't think of any gotcha's.
The drivers are good, it has low latency, and seems to work with most recording software.
Mine came with a version of Ableton Lite, but I've used Audacity with it too.

The only bad thing that comes to my mind is... If you dont use a stereo meaning if you just use PC speakers it can sound distorted at high volumes. Probably just my speakers. Other than that great device.

All I've ever used was my Bose headphones plugged strait into the Toneport.
I can see how PC speakers could be the weak link for sure.

The only gotcha that I have found so far is to make sure you plug it in directly to ayour computer's USB port. It will be intermittant if used through a USB hub.

I'm very happy with mine. I bought a Tascam speaker/woofer set for $100 that works good. Not loud, but good enough for me. I also have the POD ET Live and need to see if they can work together smoothly. My XT Live is fully loaded, so I'd like to access the additional amps/effects without buying them again.
