Too Many Truss Rod Adjustments over a 48 hour span

Is it dangerous to adjust my neck too often? I've loosened my truss rod twice in the past 48 hours to try and get rid of an odd defect that I've had since I bought my musicman SS Axis (as detailied here http://www.ernieball.com/forums/music-man-guitars/28071-am-i-getting-wolf-notes.html), now realizing it didn't solve the problem I want to set it back to its original state (i.e. Tighten back the neck 1/2 revolution), Can this lead to truss rod stability problems down the road?

actually - adjusting the truss rod wheel too many times triggers a micro-transponder that was installed in the neck of the EBMM guitar at the factory; and when it activates it sends out a specific code that alerts the EBMM customer service personnel to a possible problem....after silencing the alarm and viewing the pertinent data on the EBMM Master Control Panel, EBMM CS immediately responds to intervene before any permanent damage is done.....




I see it worked...

When you adjust a truss rod, the effect is pretty immediate.
You may want to let it settle overnight after making an adjustment before proceeding further.

I usually gently push the neck in the direction of the new adjustment, rather than waiting a day to let it settle. Seems to work fine that way.

I heard there's only 12 free truss rod adjustments, and then you have to send money to MM for each one after that.

I adjust the truss rod on my JP6 a few times every year to compensate for climatic changes, and that's about it. I've never seen me no EBMM transponder or gremlins running out of the neck yet, but hey that's how good the EBMM customer service is! I can only say good things about my experiences with EBMM. I would have thought that by pushing the neck you will only be aiding the initial adjustment - making it easier to turn the wheel. Once the neck is in that position it should stay there. A further adjustment may be necessary after a settling in period especially if climate conditions change.

You know how looking at the neck on a maple finger board EBMM? How it has the illusion of being one solid piece of wood? That's the mind control feature that's standard in the chip......keeping you from seeing the chip itself is child's play for it's advanced A/I. Don't mess with it too much or the chip will make you dress like a ballerina and go to work that way. Don't ask me how I know!

Actually, I asked Jon to set up the neck on each of my Axis and then crazy glue the truss wheel in position.
No worries since then! (I'm considering doing the same with the machine heads)

Machine heads? I just take those things off of my guitar and tie the strings in knots in the subsequent hole. Just remember, the snake goes in the hole then around the tree and back through again. Lowest action ever!

This is a tone secret only the most discriminating purists know about. Others will laugh at you - Ha! Let them laugh. Let them ALL laugh! However, I've found a double square knot holds in tune a little better than a bowline knot.
