- Fishbone

+1!

Here's my five band contribution (in no particular order):

1) Fishbone
2) The Funk Brothers
3) Led Zeppelin
4) The Blues Brothers
5) The Police

Special mention: Brian Setzer's '68 Comeback Special (3-piece)

Shamus, the Funk Brothers AND the Blues Brothers??!! Wow.

did you know that the 25th anniversary of the Blues Brothers movie is coming out on DVD? "Elwood" had John Landis as a guest on the House of Blues Radio Hour last night. They ended the show with Rubber Biscuit. I was trying to sing it around the house last night.

As far as my favorite bands, hoo boy. These kinds of questions throw me into agonies of indecision. It never used to be that way. Oh well. Here goes nothing:

Dixie Dregs/Dregs/SMB
Heart 1976-1980
Jennifer Batten
Joanna Connor
Doug Smith
Mother Station
Michelle Malone

damn, this is almost a list of my favorite guitarists. oh well.

Yeah, when it comes down to what I really love to listen to, it's Detroit-era Motown and 70's R&B/Funk!

BTW, are you going to be at the tour? I'm bringing my Sabre to SLO to show off, as I'm sure that most everyone else will be bringing their favorite EB/MM axe.

I may bring it to the jam, but I hear that there will already be basses/guitars there; hopefully a Sterling with the action set nice and low!

Yes I am going to the tour/event! I am really looking forward to it.
I thought BP didn't want people bringing guitars, because they were going to provide them for the jam portion of the festivities.

Anyway, it should definitely be a good time.

Maybe you should see if anyone wants to do some Motown or something at the jam. Unless you've already signed up for that. :)

I'll just bring the Sabre to jam at the motel through my Bassman 25.

As far as doing Motown, I'm most definitely up for it! Course, I still don't know the guitar-to-bass ratio (yet) and I've got a few others wanting me to play bass for them.

I'm hoping the geetards outnumber the bassturds at least 3-1!

Hey V -

I p.m.'d you back, but here's the thread version:
No jam at the motel, just bringing the Sabre and Bassman 25 to warm-up before the real jam that evening.
