I did consider it, Jack, but I settled on Tort because I still wanted it to be fairly understated, but not so understated as the black on black was. Abalone would have been gorgeous, but a little too "loud" for my taste, at least on this bass. Now, on my white fretless, abalone would be awesome. I have a black perloid on there now, and know abalone would be killer.

Where did you get it from? I'm considering buying a white pearl (perloid?) for my SUB. How much did it cost and are those exactly the same as on stingrays?

Edit: the tort pickguard looks awesome!
