OK kids Im up in SLO for Guitar Center training videos yesterday and then met the wonderful partners from Japan Kanda Shokai...THey brought some of the most influential Japanese dealers and some of the Japanese music press...
here is a shot or two from dinner...first one is me taking a pic of them taking a pic of us and the second is the EB team jerseys we had made for them

ANd now some torture....An Axis natural with "Roasted Maple" THis is acool way of mellowing the wood and giving it a really nice smokey color The necks are crazy too!

the roasted wood thing is very promising. These guys have got it going on. alot of R&D, some great ideas.

all i need to be complete is a 2 humbucker AL and a tri tip sandwich.

i Likey the Roasty

sort of a city or medium brown roast, good for varietal character with a little bittersweet. Probably provides a slightly wild, earthy quality but with balance, complexity and finishes with spicy overtones.

So it mellows the sound? makes it silkier? Do tell. By roasting the maple does it accelerate the aging and give the sound of a aged guitfiddle? I would think it would stabilize the wood to some degree.

Ok So give me a roasted neck chambered gamechanger axis SS hardtail set up like a 25th in ice blue metalic.

Oh when o when will they land sensei ?!;)
