Hi guys. Yesterday fellow member Junior put up the link for some backingtracks.
I downloaded some in the evening, still have to check them (thanks Junior).
I was asking if someone of you got Toto's one and could post them (obviously without the infringement of any copyright). Is there any good soul who wants to share / tell me how to buy them ?
Maybe Lucious could help us with this one !!! :p

Ciao
Marco

No problem man, that's why I'm here.

I only downloaded a few, they seem great.

Unfortunately, I don't have any Toto backing tracks, but since you're still dowloading some other ones, I wanted to point to to ZZ Top's Tush (with vocals), I love it! :)

Cheers.

...

(Will notify if I find any from Toto.)

Managed to find one - "Hold the Line"

*Right click >>> Save target as*

MIDI: - http://www.midi-tab.com/downloads/Toto-Hold_the_line.mid

TAB: - http://www.midi-tab.com/downloads/Toto-Hold_the_line.crd

Greg's MIDI and Tab. Free backing tracks and tablature. ...(BANDS L-Z)

...These are completely MIDI, so don't expect anything good-sounding. :D

Though, I did some drum tracks for Rosanna yesterday, I might do the whole thing in a certain period of time. :D I'll ask my friend to record the bass and keyboards. :)

...

Also, there's this site, check it out for more info. (This is non-downloadable)

CYBERMIDI.com ...Pro MIDI files and Backing Tracks for less!

No prob, guys.

I was just interested... how come Toto decided to switch the theme from "Hold the Line" from Em to F#m, while most of the bands would to the oposite? :D

That's the problem, wouldn't most vocalists want to "downgrade" the key to a lower one? :D

Bobby Kimbal rocks. :) :D

Not necessarily. Maybe the song ventures into an upper octave of the 'lower' key that is in a weak area of the singer's voice.

Also, changing the key *can* change the 'mood' of a song. Believe it or not. Just as some folks can discern notes by ear (perfect pitch etc), some people experience different 'moods' (for lack of a better term) when something is played in various keys.

I know nothing about psychoacoustics or anything, but this is what my music theory teacher taught us, and he had a doctorate so I just believed him. He also told me that the fluroescent lights in our classroom hummed an out-of-tune D-flat. I took his word on that, too. :)

Thanks for the explanation. :)

I remeber once, when I was in a museum with my friend, and we walked up to this booth, and it was surrounded by these special lights, and I heard some real high frequency noise coming from them, he didn't hear a thing. :D

Then I thought

A) I must be going crazy.
B) Maybe I have "better" hearing than he does, that is, maybe I hear a wider freqency spectrum, since I have been more deeply involved with sound in the last 4 years than he does. (he doesn't do music)

And believe me, I'm not showing off or anything, I can just sence the difference in my hearing now and 4 years ago. :D
