Well, I just finished playing, plugged in of course...WOW, the tonal differences are making my head spin. Now the JP7, which I have been playing for the past 5 years or more, is a nice guitar but I believe it's a tone specific guitar, something I have struggled with for a long time, but not anymore...I think I may have to sell my JP7...I am in love!

Yeah its killer, just killer. I know the JP fans will crucify me but I always find the JP to be a bit lifeless.

Come on give me all you got, i'm ready!

I don't know if the term to best describe the JP's tone would be lifeless, obviously the tone works for those who love and cherish their JP's, I just think it's a specific tone.

As far as pics go, I need to clean this baby up first, neck and all. I purchased new strings (they only had the nickel wrap Rock N Roll Slinkys... never tried these) so those will need to go on as well. Needs some love and attention, a quick set up, and then I'll post pics.
She has a few nicks but hey it's almost 15, but I got lucky with the frets, very little wear. I guess the guy is a collector of sorts, he has a house full of guitars. I'm guessing it didn't get played all that much.

Any info on cleaning/polishing products?

Oh I removed the pick guard...dang it looks sexy, I had no idea I could remove the pick guard!!!

Those Sports look great with or without pick guards. Sometimes its nice to see the wood grain.

I personally think the pick guards are really cool & retro looking.

Glad you like it! Sports are super cool and sound great. I wouldn't mind finding a HSS or SSS one at some point...

Jeff, maybe he will trade you for that Reflex you just scored. You may have to give him an extra $200 as well...

Great score, Raz. Take that pick guard off and show the green. Some pics please. Go outside and take a shot of the Sport in the midst of our great Canadian winter.

Ha, that would be nuts! Just got back walking the dog...word of advice, cold weather and riffing on an Axis neck do not mix, you wanna play hard and fast, but your joints are screaming...NOOOOOO

Pics coming once I clean her...any advice on what I can use to clean the body/neck?

Yeah, it's freakin' cold here, but my Blue Dawn JP keeps me warm.
You can't go wrong with Finger Ease, I've been using them for over 15 yrs, spray it on the fingerboard and it's nice and smooth. Martin guitar polish is great for taking the dirt out of the finish.
My personal trick is using a Swiffer duster pad, great fo taking all the dust out of those pesky corners on the guitars, like the headstock between the strings, or between the pickups.
