Wow...I must admit I ignored this thread initially because when I saw the name 'Travis', I just assumed he was a country music guy. :p This guy is GREAT! I've since looked him up and I really like his style!

HAHA, Oh Man...How many times have I told my parents what they've done. My brother is Gilbert, so I'm the lucky one, LOL:)

Hehe! Sorry man, I can only wonder how many other folks haven't checked you out. You've made a definite fan here, and I'll do what I can to help spread the word! ;)

Yeah..... the name rings ALL COUNTRY to me. LOL

I grew up in outer Colorado as a Korean. My parents named me Steve because they didn't think phoenetic Korean names would do me a whole lot of good growing up there. LOL

Any time Keith! :D I do find it funny how we create images and expectations based on names and ids. I was totally thrown off when I saw your first pics - I had you pictured completely differently based on your id alone.

So Travis, do you mind if I inquire about your influences (if any)? Like a few others have mentioned, I can hear a little Steve Morse in some of your tunes. Was he one?

BTW, I really like the 25th demo tune. Is it, or will it be on an album or the DVD?

Thanks for joining the fun here!

I've got to admit Travis that TLB has been just a band name mentioned here and there among friends and some guitar buddies, but after checking out your sound, I've been hooked to your tunes! Your tone is great, extremely melodic (some of the tastiest licks and melodies I've heard!) and just overall great music! Just saw the clip on Nevele and was blown away by Jennifer's bass and and Dale's drumming.

I spend the summer in Korea teaching, but when I get back, I look forward to a SoCal show! I go to UCLA, so hopefully one near L.A.!

Keep the great music going, and more 25th please! :D

Could not agree more. This post inspired me to pick up all your cd's and the rock show dvd. Awesome stuff. Oh and I bought a 25th. I was already sold on the guitar put your vid pushed the GAS into overdrive. Hearing the Morse/Dregs influence also kicked my quest for the Morse model back into gear.

Thanks guys for all the nice comments! I really appreciate it:) The tune on the demo IS on the DVD coming out as well as an album called "Burn Season" that Luke actually plays on with me. The tune is called "Heads or Tales" (yes Tales is spelled that way on purpose). I've used MusicMan guitars on everything for almost a decade. Even an acoustic tune on the last record using Piezo.
Steve (Morse) is an influence and has always been great to us. I grew up as a piano player, so there's a lot of folks and music... Everything from ELP to Hendrix, haha.
You can check out the album/DVDs here if you're interested. Sorry for the shamless plug, haha. Travis Larson Band -- Merchandise

Are we going to see more 25th on the upcoming DVD? :D

We shot it in September 2008. You will see my early red JP, JPBFR, 20TH Silo (quilt Maple) Oh yes and 4 of Jen's basses. Check out the gallery of stuff:) Gotta love 'em!
I believe I have the only Luke Blue Axis Sport here also. Still need to get the 25th Anniversary in this gallery. Been playing it a ton though. Need to do it justice with a nice portrait. Snap shots just won't do, haha.

Nice! Sorry for the barrage of questions you get while you're here :D

Let us know if its too much, haha.

The precursor to sneak one more in, are you guys going to be doing some shows in LA in the fall?

(Also, are you using 9's or 10's on your JP's?)

No problem. If I've got time, it's a pleasure to talk (or type) shop, haha. I'm using 9's. I've never had a problem getting enough great tone with lighter strings on these guitars. I think we'll be in LA sometime in Aug? Keep an eye on the website as things always come up.

Hey Guys,
I was hoping to get these up a while ago, but...
Here's a few shots of the 25th used in the video. They were taken for my next web update. Not a bad looking top in my opinion:D Can't wait to get it out on the road.

Hey hey hey!! It's Travis himself! Didn't see this until now... how neat.

Hey Travis... thanks for all the great music you've given us. I've been listening to you since about 1999 or so, when my uncle introduced me to Nut Boy on your eponymous record. I think my favorite record so far is Burn Season. Great stuff!!
