Help! tremelo bar, stretch G others go flat

hi all
i just got a petrucci 6string with piezo..i notice when i stretch g string up the b,e go flat is there a fix? i have 3 springs under backplate .and am using 009-42..would 0095s help or adding springs?also i see there are some allen set screws on the underside of trem ,what do they do?

you mean when you bend the G string the others go flat? sorry, but that's just how any floating trem guitar works. only a different bridge or trem-blocking system would fix that. beefier strings and more springs in the back would increase the tension, but wouldnt change the simple fact that that is how all floating trems work.

But more springs would at least help to a certain amount... the effect of going flat would be less.

I've played the Pettrucci, and even though it's a floating trem, it's pretty stable for bending. As stated earlier, any floating trem guitar will cause the other strings to go flat when you do a bend. If you like the feel of your trem the way it is, and don't want to change the tension of the springs, you can adjust your playing style to offset the bendie-flats. It's a technique of bending the other fretted strings slightly, so that they stay on the intended note as you bend the string you really want to bend.

When I played with a floating floyd, I just started doing it subconciously. When I swithced over to the Axis style blocked trem, I found myself still doing it, and had to re-adjust my playing style.

hey thanks all for your, info was helpful..i increased the string gauge got hybrid 09-16 .26-46..helped a bit ..thought maybe i could add a big rubber washer in back between trem base and wood cutout of body just to get a llittle more resistance before other stings go flat..

fixed it!

i added 2 more springs in back to the trem. and adjusted the screws in wood body and now can bend the g string 2 frets up without the e and b strings going flat..trem is a bit stiffer but that is worhth the trade off..
