Tremol-no?

Hey guys.

I have been reading up on some trem-locking device that turns your trem system into a hardtail. There's a bunch of big-name endorsers, but they're all playing stupid Ibanez. Does anyone know if these bad boys will retro-fit onto an EBMM? Two specifics in mind are a right handed JP7 and a left handed LUKE.

I'm not sure if I can post a link to the actual website... so if I can, someone say so and it shall be done.

Trying their website is a good place to start, but I was looking on there for EBMM particular information and I didn't find anything after looking for 15 minutes. If you search this forum, you may find a thread (I remember reading it a while ago) in which they discuss the tremol-no for EBMM and the fact that an adapter plate was needed in order for the tremol-no to attach itself to the EBMM tremolo block.

Kevan G from tremol-no was at the NAMM show this weekend, but he may be back and I am sure would be willing to answer any questions you may have. I too am curious about this device since I would love to get one put on my EBMM JP7. Good luck!

i .did some serious research on these products...

DON'T USE 'EM... OH GOD NO!

You will have to drill out some of your body to get most of them to work.
The Hip Shot Tremsetter in my opinion was the best and the only way to get it to funtion would be to drill a hole in the body of your guitar... I just can see doing this... hence the reason they go in the IBBY's they are a Dime a Dozen and if you destroy it you can go buy another one without blinking an eye!

There was a talk here some time ago about TremolNo. Search the forum. They made a special adapter to accomodate EBMM guitars. It certainly requires no drilling or mods of any sort.

Load the trem block with springs. No holes or extra pieces floating around, and no more trem.

I've concluded that a good trem block can actually add sustain, greater string "bendability", than having a hard-tail.

Btw, can anyone say what MM trem blocks are made of?

Oops! Are you talking about a floating bridge? If so, forget what I said.

I'm sure he implied that there was no body mods necessary.

I have the tremol-no instaled on my Jp6 works as advertised, u really need to pay attention to the sujestions concerning how tight u want each screw.. might seem kinda odd but trust me. Only do it if u have a floating tremolo if not just forget it, but hey u can try if u have urs set like the Luke and u want to change the tunning, thats what I use it for, if i want to play in dropped D or half tone down i just block the trem and go, of course dont even think of using the trem or ur gotta F*ck up ur guitar, and there r some minor issues that u have to work out like for example the little screws on the tremol-no some times can come off when ur using it, just use some teflon tape and that will do it. And no u dont have to drill anything the only piece u have to change is the claw were u hook the springs and thats it, takes a bit to get it right cuz u need to align everything so u wont feel it when u use ur tremolo otherwise ur gonna feel like ur grinding into something every time u use it.
Bottom line the thing works, period u need an adapting plate for ebmm guitars theres this website that sells the whole thing, u can find it on kevan's website, hope this helped good luck

If you're trying to block up a floating floyd, try one of these.

It's a simple L bracket and a threaded bolt. you can get it either from another retailer, or go to Lowe's/Home Depot and pickup the parts for about $1.

It even works well to help stabilize a vintage or flush-mounted Floyd.
