I was never a big fan of Creed, but, I did read a bunch of interviews on him. He has really put in a lot of practice time to improve his playing. He really takes pride in the fact that he wants to be a better player. That gets my respect. He says he has so much to learn and has spent his time between bands practicing and getting better. I see it and like what I hear. More power to him. I have an article somewhere on his practice routine he used to improve.....maybe I need to dig it out to see if I can learn something from it......

Yes someone posted an article stating that while in Creed, he was stifled, thus now that he has more breathing room, he apparently went out and purchased all kinds of learning material to improve. I too was not a fan of Creed, but Tremonti has my ear!

I never dug Creed, but l do respect a guitarist that puts in alot of time to improve his/her playing, l'm in the process of trying to focus my guitar playing on lacking areas of my playing, while trying to keep my current guitar skills up. It get very frustrating. But l give respect where repect is due.

Scott.

After hearing all the Alter Bridge stuff, it was apparent to me that Mark Tremonti WAS Creed. I think he's matured alot as a player and a songwriter and I'm really happy to see the success he's had with the Alter Bridge project.

I met Mark Tremonti at one of his several "Meet & Greet" promotional deals and was really impressed with the fact that he appeared to be so down to earth and just a super nice guy in general.

Mark Tremonti Rocks!

(and I'm not just saying that cuz he endoreses PRS)

:)

He seems like a cool dude. He was really frustrated (his words) with being restrained in his playing with Creed. I believe the sound of Creed came from him, lyrically, it was Stapp. Stapp has a distinct voice, but when Tremonti plays, you can tell it is him. Glad to see he dedicated his time to improve his playing. I wish I had the time and was in the position to where I could do that. Talent wouldn't hurt either...hehehe.

I've always considered Tremonti a good guitar player. He may not be a EVH or Petrucci but he has definitely developed a distinct style of his own. It certainly fit the style of music that they were playing. Now that Creed is behind him I'm sure he wants to showcase that he's not just a one dimensional player. That's maturing and growth in any aspect of life.

seems like a good guy from what i've read

a lot of people bashed Creed, but it had to have been because of Scott

i mean really, how can you bash a guy whose doing what he loves, and is working for it

people complain of their success...idk why
so hes had a few hit albums, big whoop, he worked for them, thats apparent now

its so relieving to find out big shot pro musicians are down to earth guys

i met the band Killswitch Engage before and they were so welcoming and respectful you can help but hope them success

I saw Alter Bridge in Glasgow last December and Tremonti was one of the most impressive players I've ever seen. He absolutely wailed and the sheer aggression and style was unlike anything I've seen before. Hoping to catch them in Florida during April/May - Orlando looks promising :)
