Hi, decided to have a look at small (but very nice) music store next to where i work. THey have some EBMM and tried a 5HH Bongo. I found it a little heavy (heavier than SR5 that was at the store too). I was a little confused by the EQ and couldn't really try all the different tones as i wanted (low volume) so i put all EQ neutral.

The tone of that thing was really impressive, really defined and punchy as hell. wow. Loved it. It took a good part of this last year (lurking around here) to start liking the looks of that bass. After this test drive, i'm hooked.

It was also the first 5 strings bass that "talked" to me. :)

Quick question, is the knob next to the volume the one for the pickups blend?

Next time you try one, remember that the stacked pot next to the p/u blend controls mids. I usually leave my bass and treble flat and make all my adjustments with either the blend or the lo & hi mids. You know you want one!!!

How did it taste?

That's what I was gonna say, LOL!!!

A previous member here began licking Bongos a while back and since then we haven't had any takers on the position. You may be the guy for the job, having Bongos for lunch and all... :D

Fidooda, which store did you visit?

Musique Victor, St-Hyacinthe, Quebec.

I still can't believe that out of nowhere there's an EBMM dealer which also means i don't have to deal with Steve's in Montreal. I just hate that store.

I have Bongo envy...especially Anthony's buttercream 4HS fretless 2005 ltd.
