I was tagging along with a friend who wanted to buy a practice amp for guitar. While he was checking out amps with a SUB1, I hit the bass section.

There was a SUB Sterling there at that store. I had tried it before, but I wasn't particularly impressed. I got really low output out of it the first time. That previous experience with the SUB Sterling did not jive with a more recent experience trying out a SUB 4 Bass, which was awesome.

So, I looked in the battery compartment of that SUB Sterling today. No battery. I thought that might have been the reason that it sounded so much weaker than the SUB I tried recently. It was a revelation once I had the people in the shop put a battery in it. Man, it was great! Sweet 3EQ configuration. Of course, great EBMM playability and sound. I hope to rescue that blue baby someday. There's a sad SUB Bass with 2EQ in Cinnamon whatever-that-color-is-called. Totally cool too.

I feel bad leaving them there to gather dust, which is what they generally seem to do. Someday, I'd like to adopt them both so they can have a good home. The SUBs are such fun instruments, but it seems like nobody wants to give them the time of day in that store.

+1 Robbo I've been gasing for SUBs lately, especially the Sterling SUBs. They look awesome with the textured finish. aaaaaa

I've said it before - one of THE best basses I've ever played was a SUB.

I'm still waiting for the current owner to go insane and offer it to me.
