Okay, this skinny stringer has finally pulled the trigger on a bass: 2007 LE Bongo 4H, courtesy of The Brothers DuBaldo. Called Nick today and put a deposit down. Pete seems to think it may be done by Desert Domination. :D

I had considered every EBMM bass, but the one I kept coming back to with the biggest smile is the Bongo. I very nearly pulled the trigger on a used Sub I found in the Rancho Cucamonga GC and several 30th SRs in various locations. I imagined that if I bought any other EBMM bass, I'd still want a Bongo. So, why not just get the Bongo from the get-go, I thought. Looking forward to experiencing the Bongo 4H joy for the first time. I've only tried 2-pickup Bongos. Can't wait!

Thor bringing the thunder. :D

Okay, Blue Dawn seems to make this representation a little more appropriate. :p

I love the 4HH. A 5H is in my future after a few more six string aquisitions.

You're a brave man to put something in the pipeline before BP gets to dazzle us in a month with what ever is up his sleeve.....I'm sittin' tight til then. I'm hoping to see another BFR in A flavor....;)

The way I look at it, I'm actually behind on getting in on this Blue Dawn stuff. :D I didn't even order it during the window. I just asked Pete if he had a Blue Dawn Bongo 4 coming in--any configuration. Pete just happened to have a 4H coming in. So, I decided to go for it. I like the 4HH too. Maybe, for next year's LE. Maybe, next year, around this time, I'll announce that I bought 2008LE that Pete and Nick had in the pipeline for inventory.

You're right, though. It's going to be interesting to see what BP and crew will have to announce--if anything--at Desert Domination. I'm betting NAMM 2008 will be a big GAS induction time, though. So, I figure I've got a little time to think about what comes next. :D

We need more pics of the Blue Dawn finish!

I've got one on order, and I've never even seen the finish in real life!

Hopefully, I'll be able to post some pics within a month or so. We'll see.

It seems like there is a lot of variation in the pics I've seen of the Blue Dawn finish. AFAIK, they still hand spray the finishes. So, each instrument is going to be different.

Not entirely true. The variation comes from how the instruments are photographed. I have 6 or 7 instruments in this color and they all look the same.

They are still hand sprayed as far as I know.

It's the same Blue Dawn that it has always been... right Ernie? ;)

Okay, I'll accept that. You've seen a lot more than I. I've only seen one BD instrument in person.
