hi,

i own, among others, a 95 EBMM EVH which i bought new, the hardtail version.
for some time it has been setup with 0.10 strings and very low action (tightened the truss rod).
now i set it up with 0.09-0.46 strings and loosened a little the truss rod for a little relief, having the action at around 2.2 mm- 2.5 mm on he low e and 1.8-2 mm on the high e, which is my preffered action.

but i noticed that it has developed a strange buzz. i checked everything, it buzzes even when the string is hit softer. it appears on the A and low E strings, on the 8th fret and from the 12th on , on the E string and from the 12th on, on the A string. the sound seems to come from inside the neck, it appears especially when i bend the string a little. it seems that certain frequencies must be reached for the buzz to occur. it isn't a problem of the string touching the next fret(s). and everything is tight, nor the tuners or anything els vibrates (pot, switch, bridge, input, screws of the saddles at the same height and so on). so i guess its the trussrod. i tried tightening or loosening the truss rod but it still buzzes. i even changed the strings. same result. also, the g string vibrates a little after the nut, which is noticeble when the string vibrates unfretted (like a high pitched harmonic) which dissappears if the string is touched after the nut.

i am interested in a solution for these problems, especially the truss rod one, and would also like to know if it is possible to send the neck to EBMM to have it looked at and repaired if necesary. i am located in europe, so it would be nice if EBMM offered this service in Europe.

Thank You!

That's a pretty low action, so I would have suspected buzz from the frets. (With it buzzing on upper frets, I would have thought the saddles needed raising.)

But if you're sure that's not what it is, your best bet is to contact EBMM customer service directly and discuss the issue with them. (They're closed Fridays btw.) They're the best be to help you diagnose this.

Btw yes, you can get a replacement neck, but you'd have to send them yours as the first step in an exchange.
