Hi,

I love this bass, but I am still rather annoyed that I never recieved a manual. does anyone know if there is a special tool to use on the truss rod adjuster? I have never seen one like this. It looks like I can just stick something in there and turn, but I want to be sure so I don't hurt anything. there is too much relief in my neck, and I need to make a slight adjustment. thanks.

There's no manual, really, but there is plenty of good advice available here.

Whatever will fit in the little hole will work. I use my little yellow magic screwdriver. I have also used a nail. Once, I found an ink pen that worked, too.

I think most people use a small screwdriver.

A drill bit works fine too. Use the smooth end in the truss rod wheel, and don't cut yourself handling the business end :)

thanks for the advice. That's what I thought, but wanted to be sure. EB could make some $ if they invented a "special' tool. fools like me would buy it for sure...I have a habit of making things harder than they need to be.

BP has said that "musicians should not be trusted with wrenches" or words to that effect.

The capstan wheel is your friend. I tweak mine all the time...perhaps once every couple of months, as the weather changes.

Sure beats having to remove access plates or (shudder) the pickguard!

Allen wrenches work good too. The first time I tried a screwdriver, it was too thin and bent. That wheel has a good bit of tension in it.

yeah, that truss rod wheel is nice in how easy it is to adjust. In a way though, I do sorta wish the "business bolts" as I call them on basses were more discretely hidden. But alas, function comes over fashion in this case because its function is fan-f*%&in-tastic :D
