I work at a local arena as a Paramedic during events and tonight TSO played there. Since I roam around I was able to be at the side of the stage during one of the times when the bass player was off stage during the performance. I asked him what kind of bass he played and he said "A Music Man..." that is as far as I got with the conversation because I was interupted with a call for a patient and had to go out into the audience.

I was unable to see the show from close up front and could not see what type of bass he uses from the back/side. Does anyone know what model?

Also, I was able to see a stack and I mean a full rack stack of Line 6 PODs.

They seem to be getting more popular.

The last 2 years I saw them , he was playing a black SR5 . I don't remember the pickup config at all, but I think it was a maple neck. I remember thinking how great it sounded. Now that I think about it, thats when my interest in these basses came back to life. Great show though if you get to see them, they have an amazing light show.

It depends on which orchestra you get to see. There are 2 TSO's that tour during the season. The one that came through Atlanta in 2006 played a 75 reissue jazz. Not sure what he played this year.

Yes there is an East Coast and a west Coast TSO. On the east here I saw Chris Caffery and Alex Skolnick, both shredders. I think the bass player was Chris's brother maybe? Dave something ?

I believe the bass player was Chris Altenhoff from NYC

Okay I'm really losing track of time, checked the tour books, and it was for 04-05 and the bassist was Dave Z. Man I gotta get out more ;)

I was at the show in Baltimore last night and pointed it out to my wife. It looked like a black SR. I don't know much about basses other than they're missing a couple a strings... ;)

Great show, we had Chris Caffrey and Alex Skolnick. Al Pitrelli and Angus ?? play guitars on the west coast group.

Great show huh ? I stopped going because they started coming after Christmas, and it was typically my way of kicking off the holidays. Not a good reason to stop seeing a great show I guess. Hey I just noticed we are neighbors ! You are only a couple miles away. We may have to jam sometime.
