The BEST tube amp I have ever heard for plugging in a modeler is the Atomic amp.

www.atomicamps.com

I know the owner, and he is in the process of getting a super-duper website built, and about to roll out some serious new products to the lineup.

I have two of these things, and nothing comes even close. You can plug anything into this, ToneLab, Pods, Boss GT8, XT Live, you name it. These things were designed by amp legend Harry Kolbe. It is rumored that the Mesa Boogie Mark IV was actually Harry's Mark III mod that was reversed engineered at the Mesa labs.

This is a killer product, and if you have a modeler skip trying all the little tube combos people recommend and give this thing a shot. For $500 it's a steal.

I have no opinion on this.

But be on the look out for fog having 1000+ posts on the line6 and mesa boards.
;)

LOL!!!! :p
You won't find me there (not even under an alias). I trust the opinion of all of you here! There's no need to go anywhere else! :)

I owned a Mark IIC+ SymulClass w/ EQ head for years, and as good as that amp was, it was not what I would call a "practice" amp... It didn't sound really good unless it was loud enough to be heard over the drummer. It was certainly too loud to be used in the house at night when the wife and kids are in bed, even at it's lowest usable setting...

I have a little Tech21 Trademark 10 for home practice - it's been my practice amp for six years straight because it gives me great tones at really usable household volumes - no waking the kids, no drowning out anyone trying to watch TV, and no worries about burning tubes just to noodle away...

Crazy, my amp sounds amazing at low volumes. :)
