hi together

I need some help: Since I've just got a new Music Man Axis Super Sport (all rosewood, with piezo and vintage tremolo) which is truely an amazing instrument and I love to play it. :D

But somehow it doesn't stay in tune, the tuning drops constantly, even if I don't use the tremolo.

Does anyone have a clue, what might cause this little problem? Because I can read everywhere that this guitar should perfectly stay in tune forever. I'd be really thankful for a little advice.

Thnx in advance

You probably just need to lubricate the nut. Try using nut sauce and try cleaning the nut, maybe there's just too much dirt in there.

Oh my,my...
First post. No Pics. And the word "problem" in the title.
tsk, tsk,tsk.:(

Congrats on the nice axe (I love mine) and welcome to the forum.

Is the Axis "new" or "new to you" (the warranty implications are obvious here) If the tuning is going sour w/o using the trem, I would check that:
a) the tuners are soundly anchored to the headstock (don't scratch that beauty!)
b) the tuners are tightly locked onto each string
c) the neck is firmly attached to the body

This is all done, of course, using a factory fresh set of EB strings. Let us know how it turns out.

Oh - one more thing..........PICS!!!!:)

Hey man.

You problaby already know this, but when you puts on new strings you have to "bend" them alot to stretch them out, so to speak, before you start to tune up your guitar. Play a little bit, and then check the tuning again. OR, if you have old strings, maybe thats a reason.......??

good luck man

IF this is a brand new guitar and you have shipped it to europe there is not much support abailable to you other than your dealer in the states.....Please dont do what Jazzbo Jimsaid and do not tighten the neck...if it is new it is fine and I really only want qualified techs doing that as it cdan cause finish problems/
M ake sure that the locking tuners are tight and that there are no windings around the post and that your nut is clear.

Thanks for your vote of confidence BP:p
Actually, I understand where you're coming from-I obviously meant make sure the neck is snug BUT NOT overtightened. If you don't know the difference then it's best left to a pro.

I am curious about:
a) how did Frozen BB fix the problem
AND
b) WHERE'S THE PICS!!!!!!!:D
